Always wanted to learn how to sew but unsure where to start?
This short discovery session will guide you through the basics of sewing in a supportive and relaxed envrionement. No experience required!
What you'll learn:
How to safely and confidently operate a sewing machine
Threading your machine, sewing straight lines, basic seam techniques and finishing raw edges
Adjusting tension and troubleshooting common problems
What to bring:
You do not need to bring anything! Maybe pen and paper if you'd like to take notes.
Skill level:
Anyone 18 yo and over, curious about the craft of sewing! No experience needed.

Two sessions of two hours to give you a taste of the craft of sewing!
This class is a perfect starting point for beginners and a welcoming refresher for anyone returning to the craft.
In this hands-on course, you’ll learn the essential foundations of sewing in a relaxed, supportive environment.
What you'll learn:
How to thread and use a sewing machine
Sewing straight lines and basic seam techniques
Adjusting the tension and troubleshooting common problems
Understanding fabric properties, seam allowances
Inserting an invisible zip
No prior experience is necessary. By the end of the class, you’ll have the confidence to tackle simple projects on your own.
What you'll make:
A zipped cushion cover with a beautiful professional finish.
What to bring:
70cm of woven cotton fabric (avoid velvet, silks or stretchy fabric)
Matching thread
46 cm invisible zip
Loan sewing machines are available at the studio.
Skill level:
No experience required. Suitable for students aged 18 yo +.
Fee: $120 per person + materials (sewing machine hire included)
A sewing kit is available for sale at the studio - it includes essentials tools for any sewing enthusiast.
